Maintaining neighbouring garden during extension - what is reasonable?

We are starting building works imminently on our terraced house which includes a side return extension. This will mean dismantling the current garden party wall between the properties. All party wall agreements are in place and the owner has agreed to a shared party wall.

The tenants in the house have requested that our builders “clean” their garden everyday. I’m not sure what is actually reasonable here and what I can expect the builders to do and I don’t want to set high expectations.

Has anyone had any experience of this?

I would assume st the very least you or your builders should be removing any rubble and sweeping their yard/garden to ensure it is clear of waste.

Perfectly reasonable request from them

Thanks terminally that’s really helpful.

I think its reasonable. Why should there garden get trashed because you are having work done? Builders should sweep up every day and make sure that nothing is left on there side.

Especially as you're starting the work right in the summer when they could reasonably expect to use their garden

I've done similar and eca try that - keep it clear of rubble. I also said I'd replace any plants that were damaged.

Good idea for plants that’s great
