Dekton vs quartz cost

Can anyone share costs per metre on average for Dekton vs Quartz?

I was planning on quartz but love the look of dekton (and cosentino). But it sounds as if it is a more expensive option?

I have recently got Corian, which is available in different thicknesses. It's been in for four months and is still perfect. I think the price was compatible to quartz.

Thank you. I actually like the thinner 20mm depth.

I also like the patterns and styles of Dekton specifically (particularly the marble patterns which seem nicer and more realistic than the ones in quartz).

If Dekton is say £20 p/m more expensive, that's palatable, but if it's £150 p/m more, that's probably a no.

Dekton can chip. I have seen chipped samples at the Ideal Home Show (!) And in a local kitchen showroom. You are safer with Quartz.

I have heard Dekton can chip but will get samples and see.

I've had Quartz before and it seemed bomb proof to be honest!

It was explained to me today Dekton is very strong but if you bash it on the edge it can break. For example if a dish fell down out of a cupboard. It was compared to a diamond. Which can chip on the edge. All its other qualities are excellent. Heat resistance for example

I used this company to supply and fit a Dekton worktop- they were very good.

This auto quote link is very good re getting comparative prices.

I was told that a very slight bevel on the edge of Dekton reduces the chipping risk considerably. I’m sure it can chip and this appears to be its greatest weakness.

All of the worktops have a weakness…. Some more than others

That's true about worktops. None are perfect. I'd like one that wiped itself!
