Help please! What to put with these tiles?

I am soooo rubbish at this! The bathroom is being started in a week & I still can’t decide on tiles. DH & I are rubbish at putting colours etc together & as a result have a very ‘beige’ ‘safe’ home. I’ve waited a long time to have our bathroom done & now can’t decide what to do but I’d like it to be a bit more interesting.

We both like these patterned floor tiles but I don’t know what tiles to put on wall or how much of the walls to tile. We are having white bath with shower in it & toilet. I’d like a vanity unit but can’t decide on that either; drawer, cupboard, grey or white?! There’s too much choice of everything.

Wall tiles I’ve looked at white, grey, green, metro style, large rectangle, breeze block style!

Please can anyone help or if anyone has a similar bathroom please could you post a pic? Getting desperate now so will post in home dec too.

I have to get this sorted this weekend!

I'd go white metro with a grey vanity. I think keep it simple and classic in a bathroom and the floor tiles add enough interest.

We have those tiles (or v similar) but in light blue and we have white metro tiles with grey grout. We then have a white "tall boy" and white shelves. We're moving but I'd planned to paint one of the walls a pale blue to match. The only slightly interesting thing is that we have a very tall wall covered in individual vintage mirrors.

If it were me it would be white metro tiles with white grout - no offence to anyone but we have grey grout in our kitchen and I think it looks really dated. A white vanity. Then I’d add cobalt, shocking pink, lime green or yellow towels and accessories.

I absolutely love those tiles, by the way.

could you go up one wall/shower with the tiles too?

We have somewhat similar floor tiles (higgledy pattern but same sort of features) and have large stone-effect wall tiles. Grey vanity and add a bit of colour with dashed of yellow - stripes in towels and hand soap dispenser (now added.)

Help please! What to put with these tiles?

I have that type of pattern on my floor but mine has bits of blue in it - I've gone for a dark navy vanity unit and white tiles, mine are similar to metro but longer.

Ours is accidentally grey - was renovating in first lockdown so couldn’t shop in store and delivery times on everything was a nightmare. Bought online, wrong tiles delivered, bathroom fitter already booked in, no time to order anything else, went with what we had. I’m glad we did, it’s really grown on me.

Thank you all. I’m just thinking about the cleaning of white tiles..
@ComtesseDeSpair i really like those wall tiles, where are they from please?

@Littlemiss74 - Crown Tiles: www.crowntiles.co.uk/indiana-grey-porcelain-wall-floor-tiles.html

They look more grey in the stock photo - they’re more of the stone colour in my photo, and slight stone textured.

milinhas · 26/06/2021 11:51

We have similar floor tiles (more like @ComtesseDeSpair’s really with a mix of patterns - we have two walls painted a teal / blue and two fully tiled in white metro. We didn’t put it in but I think it looks fresh still!

Littlemiss74 · 26/06/2021 13:10

Thanks everyone. We are off to Wickes in a bit as i need to see the tiles in person! Just trying to decide which walls/bits of wall need tiling & which can be painted.

I have these but in a random mix of patterns and colours. I got dark teal tiles in the walk-in shower, chosen by holding samples up with a selection of the patterned tiles. White walks and grey vanity elsewhere.

Also have them on my kitchen wall with grey units and teak worktops.

Yours I'd be tempted to use grey and one of the sagey-greens, dark or light depending on the size of area and how light/dark small/large the bathroom is.
