This wallpaper is on one wall in our new hallway. We don't love it but it's OK. The other walls have been plastered (by us). Does anyone either recognise this wallpaper (a long shot, I know), have a roll or two languishing in the loft (another long shot), or know how to go about matching an old wallpaper like this? It's spongey, embossed. I would guess early nineties. Just one massive long shot really!

We used to have this exact wallpaper in our house when I was growing up! It was white, then got painted brown and then red before it was eventually replaced when I was about 15 (2003) Grin (It was up mid-late 90's/early 2000s) the only place my mum and dad ever shopped for DIY stuff was B&Q so i'm betting it was from there.

It's a Graham and Brown wallpaper. The company is still making wallpaper so why not send them and email

Standrewsschool · 23/06/2021 21:26

Is it called Anaglypta? Can’t find it in the two sites I’ve quickly looked at.

Super fresco by Graham and Brown? They had a very catchy ad campaign

You're right! I emailed and they (unsurprisingly) don't stock it anymore. If anyone has any suggestions on sourcing some from someone's attic, let me know!

Don't suppose your mum and dad might have a spare roll languishing in their garage?

We had anaglypta growing up in the 1980's. Ours stayed white though!

Have a look at anaglypta - gowallpaper will send you samples of it for £1 a piece. I’ve just papered my hall in “maxwell” and then painted it a lovely sage green and it looks fab. Same as you my other walls are skimmed but I’ve liked adding some interest with the embossed paper.

ostrom · 24/06/2021 10:19

Ah sorry re-read your post on sourcing a similar roll. Sorry I can’t help you - good luck!

That would be great - it's almost perfect (although I can't tell the scale). I don't think I can buy it though. Had a look at Wilko's website and it's not on there. So close...

Ha ha as soon as I saw that my brain went 🎵 Super Fresco It’s so easy, it’s by Graham and Brown🎵

Unless I've misunderstood, you're trying to paper freshly plastered walls with paper you don't love? Confused

If it's just the 1 wall I'd paint the others in a contrasting paint if money was an issue. If not I'd strip it.

CellophaneFlower · 24/06/2021 11:53

Oh I think I did misunderstand as you only want a small amount so assume there's a bit that's missing or needs to be repaired? Personally I'd strip it.
