Will I find out the results of my mortgage valuation?

Just wondering if I will be told the results of my mortgage valuation? Or is no news good news and you only get notified if there is a discrepancy between what you have offered and what the bank thinks the house is worth?

We were never told, assume it was a desktop valuation though.

We were notified and it was valued way under the agreed sale price. Our mortgage broker let us know but not sure how it works if you are dealing wi the lender directly

We found out the result. It was fine alongside a homebuyers report, and the valuation was enclosed with that.

Of course, they never put down a value higher than the agreed purchase price, and probably wouldn't bother down-valuing by a trivial amount. So in reality you don't find out what they really think.

On our first purchase, about ten years ago, the valuation actually came in under the agreed price but when we asked about it they basically said "Whoops!" and corrected the figure upwards. Confused

I always wonder what the surveyor would put the value at if they didn't know the purchase price....
