Acrylic or enamel bath

The enamel has completely worn away on our bath and we need to replace it as I have heard mixed stories about re-enamelling.
I can't decide what type to replace it with. We live in a very hard water area, like to use bath bombs (so potential staining issue) and enjoy long soaks.
Is one material preferable to the other? I've only ever had steel enamelled baths.

Acrylic will keep the water warmer for longer. I think there may be a safety issue with electric showers over enamel baths but i expect its just a case of making sure wiring is done appropriately. I've had both plastic and enamelled baths and honestly haven't noticed any difference. (But i live in soft water area).

Acrylic warms up quicker. But can feel a bit flimsy compared with steel especially if the acrylic is on the thin side. Ideally see the bath in person (or at least others by the same company) and check the quality before you buy.

Acrylic scratches much more easily and if it gets marked by a plastic toy or stained etc you can’t scrub it as hard. No issues using anti limescale stuff on it though.

I don't like how acrylic baths are flexible- I prefer the rigidness of steel. Both have pros and cons, it's personal preference.

Having had both, it’s steel all day long for me.

Thanks all, I am worried about acrylic feeling flimsier and needing replacing sooner than a steel bath would, but there are so few about, especially as I need a large sized one to fill the footprint of our current bath. I think I am leaning towards another the same as our current one though!
