Sorry another post about changing layout.

Ideally I wanted a utility, storage, kitchen diner, lounge, ensuite.

What you you do to this house?

Move kitchen to conservatory/lounge for open plan kitchen/dinner/coffee area (update conservatory if needed), small utility next to back door where kitchen is and increase size of dining room of lounge...depending on sun orientation and what conservatory is like would maybe do some sliding doors out of kitchen.

Upstairs hard to say without room dimensions and knowing how many bedrooms you wanted. Is there scope for attic extension?

The wn suite is easy. Make bedroom 2 a bit smaller and divide remaining space in two

Put the kitchen into the lounge as a large kitchen diner leading to the conservatory
Make existing kitchen a smaller utility room, the dining room bigger so it becomes the living room

I think I’d knock kitchen and dining into 1. I’d square off the wc and split it in two - utility and smaller wc with access from the kitchen. So you go through your utility to get to the loo.

Without knowing room sizes I’d change the lounge into kitchen diner, with utility at the top end. Possibly update conservatory to make a year round space.

Then turn dining room or kitchen into lounge, stealing space from the other if needed. The remaining room can become an office or playroom.

Upstairs is the bathroom big enough to divide into two , maybe changing the windows?

moving the kitchen to the opposite side of the house may cause you probs with services (gas, elec, water, drains)
same thing with creating an ensuite other than adjacent to the bathroom/above the downstairs loo.
knocking a wall out between the lounge and conservatory would cause you probs with Building Regs.
The only way you'd get all of your wish list is knock down the conservatory and build a 2 storey extension.

mayblossominapril · 21/06/2021 21:19

As long as the kitchen is at the back of the existing lounge the services will be fairly easy.
Keep the doors between the lounge and conservatory otherwise you will have building reg issues.

Knock kitchen and dining through, create new wall at the back for storage and utility.
I would keep the lounge the side that it is.
En-suite where bed 4 is if your happy to get rid of a room otherwise you'll be eating into bedroom space

I agree with this, and i'm qualified as i've been watching a lot of Sarah Beeny's new show Grin

Thank you for all your ideas. I think we will leave the ensuite but I wouldnlike a utility room.
