Hey, my husband, myself and our 8 year old daughter live on the South Coast in Dorset.
We are toying with the idea of a possible move as financially housewise we are so outpriced here to move on from our flat and looks as though for our budget of around £170,000 we could afford a good 2 bed minimum house and still enjoy the things we do here.
We have travelled to many different places in Devon on holiday but would like to know the real truths on places as places to live.
At present we live in a decent size town with amenities nearby and the beach a 10 min drive away. I don't drive so good public transport is a must, good schools, amenities etc etc. My husband likes paddleboarding, we enjoy scenic dogwalks and we also like a good area of cafes/shops etc, thinking longterm as our daughter gets older for her to be able to go out and do things with friends also.
I work in retail & hospitality so I'm guessing I will be able to pick up work in most places? And my husband is an hydraulic engineer.
Thoughts and truths please on
Exeter
Bideford
Torquay
Plymouth
And surroundings....
Obviously everywhere has there good and bad areas but please also feel free to add anymore good ones to the list for us to look at.
Look forward to some answers
