Calling all others who want to buy but haven’t sold up yet

Is anyone else in this situation? If so thought we could moan together.

Please please PLEASE no comments from people saying you just need to sell. I’m looking for support from other people who for whatever reason can’t sell up until they’ve found their onward purchase.

We are absolutely desperate to move but have resigned ourselves to the fact that we probably won’t be successful on any offers with the way things are currently so we will probably end up needing to wait until the market has calmed down a little.

Any workarounds that people have thought of?

I know people (incl my parents’ buyers) who have said they have nothing to sell ie can afford to buy without selling existing place. Then surprise surprise half way through the process they have got their place under offer and are no longer chain free, and by then the seller is committed to them so ends up waiting for their sale.

I’m not sure what they would have done if they couldn’t get their place under offer. Maybe pulled out or maybe got very expensive bridging finance so they could genuinely buy without selling their place (in the short term).

But normally agents or solicitors would want to see proof of funds to buy outright? Or did they pass that but then still want to tie in with selling theirs?

Don’t know tbh. Yes maybe they had got approval in principle for a bridging loan and showed that but were hoping not to have to use it.
