Will my chain ever complete

I'm number 3 (FTB - my buyer - me). I have purchase , number 4, and their purchase, number 5. Who are now looking for somewhere.

Feels like it's beeing going on forever. Nobody will move into rental, i mean why would they. I keep looking for other properties but nothing much available so holding onto the one I've managed to get. Buyer doing same with mine as market here slowed down and lots of demand.

Is it all going to just collapse in one big heap. Just feel really down with it today.

Well I am moving into not rental but a holiday let for a few weeks.
I waited for almost three months for my seller to find a place and gave up when even her own EA was starting to send me other listings. I planned this move two years ago but I had a deadline, and while I was first told she would go into rental then she wouldn't. I didn't want to lose my buyer, and though it's tricky (dogs, son, my daughter still sitting gcse assessments) I moved out. Now my new seller, advertised as chain free, is being soooo sloooow.

People moving area may choose to do a short term rent to work out where they want to buy. We did last summer and now buying a property this year after deciding the area we were thinking about doesn’t suit as well as we hoped it would. Also there are house that are chain free so there will be an end.

Don’t give up hope!

I've dealt with loads of chains like this, they only fall through because people get fed up and think it's never going to happen then withdraw. Kind of like what you're doing.

Are the people at the top of the chain actively looking? If so, for how long?

If you don't know, you need to ask your agent to speak to the agent at the top

Unless of course you're using an online agent, in which case good luck to you

Everyone is using a normal agent thankfully. Top has been looking for about 2 weeks now so not long but obviously those at the bottom have now been waiting months and understandably are getting a bit frustrated. I know if they didn't want a chain they shouldn't buy a property that isn't chain free etc

But what if those at the top find somewhere that also wants to buy on. I know we all need to just calm down and stop stressing and keep the faith. Just not feeling it today. Maybe the heat isn't helping!!
