I know nothing about boats. Would this be crazy?

Depends what kind of person you are. I know two people that have them and while they’re cute I’m not sure I could live on one permanently.

I daydream about living on one occasionally and follow lots of people on Instagram who make it look wonderful but realistically it'd never work for our family with the limited space

Depends if you just want it permanently moored somewhere or if you plan to travel in it.

Boats are an depreciating asset so you won't make money in the long run and permanent moorings can be hard to find and expensive - especially if you want electric hook up and communal toilets & showers to use.

If you don't want a permanent mooring you will need to keep moving every 2 weeks (or less in popular areas), so would make work/school difficult or any registered address.

Also you need a boat mot and tax which can add up.

But it could be great to live on the water and it's definitely getting more popular.
