Hello,

Can anyone recommend or provide approx delivery times for recent sofa purchases from the likes of DFS, John Lewis, Sofa.com, Lounge Co etc?

We are waiting to complete on a house (hopefully next Fri) and cannot order until then, however have baby due end of Aug and I am fretting I will be sofa-less with a newborn! Online most state 8 - 14 weeks delivery time and I wonder how true this is?

Many thanks

I don’t have personal experience but I gather that Snug delivers quickly

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 10/06/2021 15:56

Made are good and tell you delivery time in description for each sofa.

We ordered from DFS on bank holiday Monday. Estimated 12 weeks for delivery but we were asked if we'd like it early if its ready early

JaffacakeJanine · 10/06/2021 16:04

I'll be getting a swyft sofa once we complete, meant to arrive in 48 hours once ordered. It's soft but not too soft, tried it in a showroom a few weeks ago :)

Find one you like in stock in IKEA?

lurkingattheback · 10/06/2021 16:07

Recently ordered for M&S, they have some available for 10,12 or 13+ weeks. Swift and Argos/Habitat ones that were available much quicker. I think Loaf has an option to filter those available immediately.

purplesequins · 10/06/2021 16:08

yes to ikea
alternatively charity furniture shops

AllOptionsAreOnTheTable · 10/06/2021 16:11

If you join Trade Secret, their sofas are all in stock and can be collected or delivered in 14 days. Plus of course there's a hefty discount on them.

motogogo · 10/06/2021 16:23

Harveys took 3 weeks last time I bought one - I wasn't finished decorating when they called! Most larger towns/cities have places that deliver from stock, tend to be independent.

Thank you so much for all the responses - really helpful!

Lots of ex John Lewis stock on eBay with fast delivery.

AllOptionsAreOnTheTable · 10/06/2021 20:06

Should have added that Trade Secret sell brands - so JL, Loaf etc.

VonWeasel · 10/06/2021 20:14

Argos. Ordered a sofa bed recently and it arrived 3 days later. That's why we chose Argos as loads of other places we tried had epic wait times of 12-14 weeks and who wants to wait that long for a sofa?! Hmm

smallgoon · 10/06/2021 20:20

Ikea? I struggled as I needed to purchase one during the first lockdown and was unable to visit showrooms. I had intended to go quite high-end and was eyeing up a Loaf sofa but I'm so glad I opted for a much cheaper Ikea one instead. I went for the Ikea Gronlid. My neighbours ended up getting the same after sitting on mine.

Bloomingpeony · 10/06/2021 20:23

John Lewis usually have some that they can get to you within the week. Depends on the range and the colour.

PieonaBarm · 10/06/2021 21:36

Next have some that are available pretty much within a week

redpickle · 10/06/2021 23:17

Definitely NOT made.com as they have massive delays at the moment. I recently cancelled an order as it was delayed by a further 8 weeks on top of the 3 months expected!

chukwe · 10/06/2021 23:35

I ordered from DFS on a 13 weeks delivery time in May.

After 10 days, there called to book a delivery date the following week.

All under 3 weeks
