Is this a snag?

Moved into our new build and a month later the carpets were fitted , thanks covid

There are 2 doors that drag badly over the carpet as you start to open them

Is this a snag ( the builders are still around to ask ) or something we sort ourselves ?

Thanks

Were the builders responsible for the carpet fitting? If so you could ask them to fix it, if they were your responsibility I guess it is up to you to fix it. A decent joiner would fix this quickly and easily.

This is normal. You need to trim down the doors.

If the builders are still on site just grab the site manager and ask if he's got a joiner about to plane them down for you I'm sure they'll do it. It's not really a snag if they didn't fit the carpet.

Cheers all!

I did grab my toolbox but the screws are beyond hand tight!

Were the carpets fitted by the developers? If so, they should have sorted the doors out.

Or, did you engage the carpet fitter directly? Trimming the doors is something that often needs to be sorted out when carpets are fitted, and most carpet fitters offer this kind of service. I think some charge extra though....

I strongly recommend you pay a professional snagging company to come and do you a report. They will check everything for you. Money well spent. Things you wouldn’t notice they will pick up.
