We live in 3 bedroom townhouse, downstairs in only the hallway, small toilet & garage and we're thinking of converting the garage to have a snug / dining room.

Has anyone done it & how much did you spend? X

We don't live in a town house but had an internal garage with a bedroom above it. It had plumbing and electricity already so we had a little toilet room added and the garage converted.

It was about £7-8000 for all of the work. That was the toilet, removing the garage door and adding an external door and window in its place, soundproofing, insulation, doing something to the floor and plastering.
Definitely worth the money for us, it's used as a second livingroom/guest bedroom/playroom.

Yes, we did it a couple of years ago. We had the garage, hallway and kitchen on the ground floor and converted the garage into a living space. The original living room on the 1st floor is now teen ds's bedroom, as he was previously in a tiny box room.
The whole project with all fixtures, fittings etc came to approx 10K.

Our friends did this but kept an area of the garage as a small storage and kept the garage door there so when they went to seel new people could return to a garage if they wanted. They turned about 3/4 of their garage into a playroom
