Fence painting prep

Hi,

We'd like to paint our fence but after removing some bushes the fence has been left green

I'm thinking about giving the panels a quick jet wash in the hope it removes the green, I don't really want to just paint over it

Has anybody had to do the same or have a better idea?

I did a bit if research on this, when we had our bushes removed to reveal a green fence.
I found a video where a chap used a bleach and warm water solution and scrubbed with a brush then hosed off.
I planned to do this in the Summer but found the green has almost disappeared now as the sun and air has got to it, so you might not have to do anything if you want to leave it.

yes, but a jetwasher will get it off. Use a fan spray and do not linger in one place, as it erodes the surface and raises the grain.

A jetwasher will also blast off old fence stain, if you don't like the colour or want to use a lighter shade.

Thank you both
