Moving back to UK from abroad

An old friend is looking to move back to the UK from abroad. She and her husband have done very well financially and have a budget of £5 million. (I know...)

She grew up in the London area and would like to come back to SW/W London ideally -- but she hasn't lived here for so long she hasn't got a feel for different areas. Her kids will be either at boarding school or uni so no need to worry about school places.

Where would you buy if you were in her very lucky situation? She can't come over to scope things out in person at the moment, for obvious reasons.

Chelsea! I love it there. Or Parsons Green - she doesn't have tonsoend all £5m. Both are not built up, good walking around vibe, abundance of shops, restaurants etc. Parsons Green more green I guess and maybe more family oriented (and bigger house for the budget).
Wimbledon is also very nice and she could get a decent house near the Village if she wants even leafier surroundings.

Thanks. I don’t really know any of those very well. Think she’d like a biggish garden so I guess a less-central place might be better.

Fulham, Parsons Green, Putney would get my vote.

Chiswick might be alright too.

I would absolutely love to live in Wimbledon Village right by the common.

Barnes?

Richmond! Near the river, Richmond Park and Kew Gardens. Lovely villagey town centre. Gorgeous. That's where I'd buy if I had 5 mill for a house in London.
