Understairs storage recommendations

I would be really grateful for any recommendations for understairs storage providers in South East London.

We have just been really badly let down by Clever Closet who were due to install some drawers and a cupboard at the end of this week and have just called to cancel our order, as we do not own a private driveway.

We had a terrible experience - we are now left with a mess of a hallway and no way to resolve the situation immediately prior to our baby's delivery date.

We have been waiting some time for the installation date and thought all was ready for the installation on Friday, as Clever Closet had previously confirmed that the area under our stairs was suitable for their product and we arranged for our builders to break through and leave the cavity under the stairs ready for their installation (i.e. our hallway is incomplete and a waste pipe is exposed within the concrete floor).

Two days prior to installation, Clever Closet called us to say that they could not carry out the works because our house did not have a private driveway (we live in a terraced house in a city). We pointed out that the installers can park on the road outside our home (we offered to reserve two places immediately outside this with our and a friend's car for the days prior to installation to guarantee this). This would mean the installer would be less than 2m from our front door. In the alternative, the installers could use the whole of our ground floor as their workshop (it is still empty from the works that have just completed) or our rear garden to cut the product down to size.

We were told that none of this was acceptable to them and they could not install the product and would need to cancel our order.

This was never mentioned to us previously and has left us completely in the lurch, with a mess of a hallway and without any time to find an alternative contractor prior to our first child's arrival, due this week.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good value reliable installer who may be able to help us out?

We had Clever Closet out a couple of months ago to fit cupboards.

Before we did the booking, they asked us loads of questions. We did mention that we had off street parking, but I can't remember if that was in response to a direct question.
I'm guessing that whoever accepted your order cocked up and forget to check, which totally their fault.
The two people I dealt with were super helpful and I will pm you their names

Have you got drawings/plans? You could maybe put something on a local Facebook group for any carpenter/handymen type people. Much more flexible than larger organisations.

I’d check on your local Facebook page for recommendations for carpenters. They will be able to do the work for you for a fraction of the price and pick up where the other company left off

That is totally bonkers they won’t fit unless you have a private driveway!

Have you asked your builders if they know or could recommend anyone?
