Anyone any good at DIY? Turning a climbing frame into a playhouse?! Am I mad?!

Bought dd a slide thingy for her birthday last year, she barely uses it and now really wants a playhouse. We don’t really have the space for both, and I cannot get rid of the slide out of pure stubbornness as it was so expensive. I’m wondering if it’s possible to turn it into a little playhouse/treehouse thing?! Fwiw I have never really done DIY in my life and can imagine I’m fairly useless at it. I really want to try though! Where do I start?! Where can I buy little windows and a door?!

Pic attached of the climbing frame for reference. Please
Wise mumsnetters help me!

Grin What about crafty stuff? You could use some gazebo material with windows already in. Likely get a second hand one. You've got the structure already.

Could you enclose 2 more sides on the bottom part (the 2 adjacent to the side that's already there) with toungu and groove timber nailed to the frame?

Then possiblly extend out from the open side with some tarpaulin or one of those sun sails supported on posts sunk into the ground?

I would give the kids fleece blankets and pegs...mine spent hours and hours "making dens" and it's different everyday, add on a few pop up tunnels/tents and tada ninja turtle sewer systems :) bamboo comes are optional but be prepared for jousting knights vs zombie nerf wars

*tongue and groove

If you know anyone that can sew, it would be easy to make panels like gazebo side panels with eyelets on so they could be hooked on to the frame. Then it would be versatile as they can be removed. It could have window panels like a tent.

Plastic sheeting/ground sheet
An old tent cut up
Plywood nailed to the sides

I agree with others - keep the permanent alterations to a minimum and let the children loose.
Bits of rope and some clothes pegs and you could do wonders with a ground sheet and some IKEA fleece blankets.
