What else do I need?

FTB, we will be getting the keys to our house next month but need to do quite a bit of work so will not be moving in straight away - I'm trying to put together a list of what to take with me for us/workers whilst the work is being done, so far all I can think of is a cheap kettle, cups & spoons...
Any suggestions would be appreciated Smile

Think about things you might need if you’re going to spend whole days there. Necessities for me would be toiletries and something to eat/drink without having to go elsewhere.
On top of kettle/spoons I would add:
Loo roll, hand towel, first aid kit, small fridge (for milk, lunches etc), old TV/radio. It depends how long the works are going to take as to how far you want to go!

I did something similar with our new house, my list was:

Bathroom - Air Freshener, Hand Towel, Soap, Toilet Brush, Toilet Paper
Kitchen - Anti-Bac Surface Cleaner, Bin Bags, Coffee, Creamer, Glasses, Hand Towel, Kettle, Kitchen Roll, Mugs, Soap, Sugar, Tea, Tea Towels, Teaspoons, Washing Up Liquid
General - Anti-Bac Gel, Disposable Masks

Assuming you have a fridge you might want to stock it with milk and a few soft drinks. You might also want to think about getting a few cheap chairs from Argos or IKEA. Our seller left the garden furniture luckily, otherwise standing up for hours can get tiring.

I had Similar in my 1st place, spent the odd night there before properly moving in

In addition to above: Bin bags, kitchen roll, paper plates etc
Wipes, hand gel, masks (your workers probably won’t wear masks while they are working so you may wish to)

Rags/old towels/blankets (for clean up of various kinds). Something to sit on : even a crate or deck chair. Uht milk & some ‘instant’ food (lots of cereal bars etc)

Phone chargers & extension cables

Loo roll, kitchen roll, soaps of all kinds and varieties.

Microwave and fridge if you are putting your stuff in storage or have a freecycle page with them going begging.

Couple of chairs - even just garden chairs but something to sit on when you need a break.

Cleaning stuff and scrubbing brush, stuff you can use to clean up paint spills or get the grout out of the bathtub.

And yes a stash (for you not the builders!) of energy bars or similar.

Great thanks everyone! Lots of stuff that I wouldn’t have even thought about xx
