Area advise - Colchester

We are Asian - Indian family. We are planning to buy a property in Colchester. We have been in london for many many years. Due to work, we would like to move colchester after buying a property locally in Colchester.
One thing that worries us is Rascism.

If you know well about colchester, can you please let me know how good colchester is ?
And if we as a family would be singled or cornered or receive rascist related remarks / looks (because we are indians) if we move to colchester. I know different type of people exist everywhere.
But in general, are people good there ? Please let me know your thoughts.

I lived in Colchester on and off all my life. As a white female I can not guarantee that you won't face racism, especially in the current climate (Brexit) . What I do know is Colchester is incredibly diverse. You have a huge population from the University of Essex, along with lots of families who have relocated from London, of all ethnicities. You would not be singled out for being Asian, as there is a strong Asian community in the town . I don't want to presume your religion if any, but Colchester has a strong Islamic centre along with other religious communities. It's a lovely town with some very strong community values .

Hi, I'm Asian and have been living in Colchester for the past four years. We've never faced any racism. It's a nice place to live and to bring up a family.
