So signed the contracts today on my sale and purchase.. Solicitor thinks we will exchange early next week (yikes)

Now am getting scared! Stupid I know!

I've lived in my flat 19 years, and finally moving to a little house in the country.

Am so worried, I know how everything works here... Am so scared I'll be lost and hopeless in the new place (stupid I know)

Its not buyer regret, as I've waited a long time to move... but just fear of the unknown ....

Scary is also excitement right?!!

@OldSpeclkledHen I totally get how you're feeling. We've just relocated from Surrey to Somerset from a busy built up area to a house in the country. It's a complete dream house and the rural area we want to be in but the day we moved from our old house I was in bits and cried for most of the journey down here.
We've been here five days and whilst there are bits I miss from our old house/area I wouldn't go back for anything in the world.
Keep trying to remember the positives of why you're moving but it's ok to feel sad at the same time.
Good luck x

I'm right there with you, @OldSpeclkledHen. Signed the contract for my purchase today and all sorts of mixed feelings. Sad to be moving from what is basically a country manor into a tiny chocolate-box cottage, but desperate to do it at the same time. I have no idea if my dog will bark too much for the neighbours or if the kids will hate being in a smaller space. I bought this place with my husband when life was so different and I though I desperately want a new chapter it's still terrifying and upsetting.

Argh. Scary and exciting, all at the same time.

Chocolate box cottage sounds lovely though.

It’s normal to be anxious I think. We had 2 purchases fall through and a generally hideous year and a few times I’ve regretted leaving our old house which was DDs only known home and we had such lovely memories there. We’ve had a nice rental but is a relief to complete at last. Now worried about settling into the new area and getting everything set up in the new house.
