Magnet Kitchens

Anyone recommend magnet kitchens? I have quotes from magnet and howdens, wren also looked at DIY kitchens. Magnet is coming out most expensive is it worth the extra money.

Our magnet kitchen was fine. We had it for five years (until we moved) and it didn’t show any signs of wear and tear.

Watch out though - they intentionally oversell on the worktops to make more commission, especially if you are using their fitters. They just whisk away the unused worktop and you don’t even realise it.

They did it to us and tried the same thing with three other people we know. Luckily we realised and got our money back.

Thanks for the heads up we won't be using their fitters luckily

@ChelseaCat What do you mean they 'whisk away the unused worktop'? You mean they sold you more worktop than you needed and took away the extra?
Aside from that, Magnet has a Best Buy rating from Which? Magazine, especially their factory built units.

Our magnet kitchen was fitted into our newbuild in 1986. It is grey and has been "in fashion" three times. Need to replace the worktops now, but everything else is still sound.

@Livingintheclouds exactly that!

I went to them for a design a couple of weeks ago.

Awful; he didn't listen to me. Put things in random places etc. I thought they'd sit with you and do it in front of you but not the case.

I wouldn't trust them now. I know he was probably just bad at his job and others will be great but it's put me off.

I have a Magnet kitchen, fitted by the developers of our new build 3 years ago.

It honestly isn't a patch on the Howdens one I had fitted at my old house. It was 10 years old when I sold up, and still looked great.

I had a design done by them. Really nice. They said they'd get back to me with a fitting quote. But I've never heard from them again. I've gone with Wren.

They sat me down with a cup of tea and designed it in front of me!

I had a quote done which came to £34k which ridiculous... the sales guy who designed it told me to go back to them when the sale is on and they'd be able to do the exact same kitchen for about £15k! It put me right off so I didn't bother.
