Ikea kitchen fitter/builder

Hi, we are looking to have an IKEA kitchen fitted in SW London and would appreciate any kitchen fitter/builder recommendations. I am hoping other people who have IKEA kitchens are able to recommend fitters they have used as I am finding it quite challenging to find one! Many thanks in advance.

We used IKEA's own fitter. He did a great job. However,IKEA sent a damaged custom made worktop, and nearly a year down the line, they haven't replaced it,or the incorrect sized drawer fronts. Kitchen is lovely, but the customer service and communication is the worst I've ever dealt with,it's shockingly inefficient and bad,and really lets them down.

Thank you @TheFnozwhowasmirage. Did you have to get somebody to prepare the space before IKEA fitters would fit the kitchen?

A lot of fitters hate fitting IKEA kitchens, apparently, something to do with not having a service space at the back of the units. We used a small company called Z&V Ltd based in south London - this was mid-pandemic last year when it was near impossible to find trades, they happened to have a week free due to a cancellation. Really pleased with their work.

We looked into having IKEA do the fitting but apart from the really long lead time to get anyone in we were put off by the idea of all the various parts being subcontracted out (IKEA literally only install the units - you liaise through them for the electrician, plumber, tiler etc but they are all separate contractors) and it just felt like there was too much likelihood of it all going wrong.

Thank you @ComtesseDeSpair ! have looked up Z&V Ltd on my builder and will ask for a quote.

We didn't have to prepare anything as it was a new build. Luckily it is a European house,so has no surface mounted pipes,so no service spaces needed to be cut out.
The fitters come out prior to installation,to ensure that the design will actually fit into the space. Ours was delighted because he had absolutely straight walls and floors to work with.

I've used monster flatpack for Ikea furniture , I found them on Facebook , not sure if they do kitchens but were very fast , careful and professional with the furniture, maybe give them a ring and ask if they do or if they can recommend someone ?

I used the ikea fitters and they project managed all the prep work and various trades needed. Knowing ikea kitchens are a bit 'different' it made sense to use one used to fitting them.

@ComtesseDeSpair I know this may be a long shot but would you happen to have contact details for Z&V Ltd? A google search takes me to the My Builder profile but there is no contract information there. I invited him to quote but i have not heard anything for over a week. Thank you!

Hi, a slightly old thread but can you share who you went with in the end and if you were happy with them. I'm looking to do the same in Clapham also using IKEA.
