Carpet option! What to choose

We are planning on replacing the carpet upstairs fairly soon. Wooden flooring is going in the landing, so carpet just needed for the rooms! I am thinking a cream colour of some sort, something easy to clean (as I have boys who destroy everything!) any thoughts? Recommendations please? As don’t know where to start! Thanks 🙏

having lived in a house with cream carpets i would say look for another colour it drove me mental trying to keep it clean it showed every mark , the best thing to do is go to a carpet place in person if you have an independent one near you even better and speak to them , A you will be able to see the carpets in reality and B they people who work there are usually very good at telling you info on the individual carpets and how they perform

I recommend carpetright’s Emperor in colour Mink as it is a Greige (cross between a beige and a grey) so works well with all furniture and decor. I have pets and a child and it is so easy to clean.

Ah thank you both! I should also add that we have a cat, so will probably need to factor that in too! 🤦🏻‍♀️

For cats avoid any kind of loop pile as they will pull it. Go for a cut pile or a twist. Something with wool in it generally flattens less and keeps its appearance more but some 100% man made fibres can be cleaned with bleach which might be useful if you are expecting serious staining.

We've just had some new carpet and though I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for I can recommend it so far. It's bleachable which with 3 kids and a dog I though was sensible especially as we're having it on the stairs and landing and it's very soft underfoot. Also wasn't the most expensive in the world I think about £18sqm from our local carpet shop.

Had loop pile in our last house and it didn't hold up very well and got small bobbles on it like you'd get on wool jumpers in high traffic areas. I did like the modern look but you also couldn't use a hoover with a brush because it ruined the pile. So never again.

This is it, it’s Galaxy Grey
