Help! How do I get sap off PVCu

We've had scaffolding up and I've realised that the wet weather has been causing the planks to ooze sap-like stuff on my PVCu windowframe.
How do I get it off without damaging the PVCu?

Sticky stuff remover - lakeland and B&Q stock it. WD40 can soften sap, also car tar remover wipes might be worth a try if you have some in. Don't use anything abrasive as it will scratch the frames.

When we had it fitted the installers put the fear of god into me and said only use washing up liquid, nothing stronger.
DH wanted to use car stuff but I vetoed it.
