Anyone know about adjustable lamps?

I bought this brand new adjustable boom lamp from local British Heart Foundation charity shop. Delivered disassembled - and now I've opened it I see there are 4 springs included as well.

I have no idea where these go and my attempts to make it stand up have so far come to nothing. Does anyone how I can assemble this? Thanks!

This is what my anglepoise looks like (excuse the dust!).

If you look at the pictures on this one it might help. I can see the bits sticking out about half way up and at the elbow for the top springs on yours so it looks v similar in construction

This looks like the same type of lamp. Hope it helps

Actually yours is more like DD's Habitat one (do you have little bits sticking out onto which you can clip the springs)?
