Curtains instead of doors for closet

Currently doing up the spare room, and building a mini walk in closet to make use of the alcove in there.
Putting a door on it will restrict access as it's narrow but deep. Someone suggested using curtains instead of a door as then I'll have full use, but I'm wondering how it will look. Has anyone done this?

How about a concertina door?

Sounds like a recipe for moths to me, but I seem to suffer regularly with them so probably have more paranoia than most. Maybe a sliding door might work?

I've never really understood walk in wardrobes from a moth perspective but maybe I am unusually unlucky.

Concertina doors are what we have been looking at, but again there will be some restriction. Sliding doors won't work as it is too narrow unfortunately.

It was just my musings with a friend and they suggested a curtain instead.

Just trying to make best use of the space and create as much storage as possible. This is in the spare room, so won't be storing every day clothes, but will need regular access as my gi's will be in it

We have one in white as he has a really small room and a normal door takes up too much space.

I have curtains ony built in wardrobes as the air flow is bad in my old house and it's on an outside wall so got damp. I've had no problems with moths. I'm not sure why you'd have more problems than a normal door? But if you're worried pop a few moth balls in.

I think as long as its a well fitted curtain it looks fine.

I have a very old house, and it has enormous alcoves by the chimney breasts. I created wardrobes in these and have curtains in two rooms and folding african dividers in my own bedroom. All are perfect and very "atmospheric". They add to the quirky nature of my house. I have never seen a moth- I'm not sure why it would make moths a problem.

Thank you Monkey, that is a fab suggestion. These are not tall enough unfortunately (this is floor to ceiling), but I might have a look around to see if there are taller versions though

I'm not concerned about moths, was more the look of it. I'm glad you have them Moondust, I'm having a quick look on Pinterest and they look quite good

You could always build the frame down to size if you wanted similar to those Monkey posted.

Bi-fold door?
