Downdraft induction hobs

We are having our kitchen extension done and induction hob will be on a low run of units with no overhead units as want to keep wall clear and have some open shelves. But extract causing a problem as don’t want the interruption of a wall mounted extractor and a ceiling one wouldn’t be very effective as shelf would be in the way. Does anyone have any experience of the induction hobs with built in down draft in the centre ? There’s no space to put a pop up down draft extract next to the hob but also don’t want to lose hob space. Plus both these options v expensive and we’re so over budget now !! Any bright ideas wise mumsnetters !

We have one,it's an Ikea one. Wasn't cheap but works really well, and we are pleased with it.
Do you have any additional ventilation in the kitchen? We have a whole house mechanical ventilation system which runs constantly too.
It'd be worth checking with building regs to see if it'll pass,as I think that if it's an entirely new kitchen, rather than replacement, you'll still need some form of ventilation in addition to the downdraft extractor.
