We are in the last stages of getting our house ready for sale - getting some work done this week. We hope it be able to put up for sale by July.

At what stage do we get mortgage in principle? We bought from builder last time many years ago so can't remember

Thanks

As soon as you can. We have been house hunting and needed an mortgage in principle in place to even arrange viewings, the market is crazy right now

You'll probably need to wait until you have an offer so you have an idea of how much equity you have towards your onward purchase.

We arranged ours the week before we put ours on the market, purely so we knew what we were looking at - we wanted to compare releasing money to extend against moving.

Ok thanks. We know roughly the market price and what it sold for as neighbour is currently sold STC.

I think we will apply before we put up for sale. Broker is best I guess.

Do you still get better rates if existing mortgage or banking customer or is that a thing of the past?
