DIY Kitchens - Helmsley worth the cost?

I've had a quote for my kitchen back from DIY for both the Helmsley and Malton ranges. The Helmsley is coming in at 4k more. I much prefer the look of it but is it really worth the extra?

And does anybody know if the Helmsley is set up in the DIY showroom? I'm due to visit at half term and it doesn't appear on their online show room.

Anyone?

Went today, Helmsley is still up. It's really nice. Don't recall seeing the Malton, but I suspect it was up, then had several of that style in lots of colours. We're not looking for that style (I love it but can't be arsed with the cleaning) so didn't pay it huge amounts of attention as I'd get sucked in!

I’ve got the Helmsley, it’s beautiful. The inframe is why it’s so pricey compared to the Malton. In my opinion it’s worth the extra. It really does look far more expensive than the Malton, the price difference is obvious in the finish.

That’s good to know Helmsley is in the showroom. I love the in-frame look but wouldn’t want to pay out the money it’s going to cost without seeing it first.
WannabePilot what colour did you opt for?

We went for bespoke painted and had farrow & ball colours matched. The result is spot on exactly like the paint chart. They sent touch up paints too so any little knocks can be sorted easily.

DIY have just confirmed to me they actually don’t have the Helmsley on display. Seems so silly since it appears to be one of the most popular?

Really? So what did I see

They’ve said they have the Harewood which is similar. I’m now debating whether to still go on the showroom tour.

I was there this morning and definitely saw both the Helmsley & the Harewood because we spent at least 10 minutes comparing doors!
Helmsley was my favourite- they have it on display near the Linwood and personally thought the in-frame looked much better. Not sure it looked £4,000 better though 🙈
But I think the Malton is made of MDF not timber which may explain the cost difference

What the heck?! Why are DIY kitchens telling me it’s not there? I thought it was a bit nuts for it not to be.

We spent 1.5 hours - 1 probably would be ok if you weren’t spending ages looking at countertop samples like we were. But no-one hurried us out

I honestly swear it was there! I'm prepared to be wrong, and I'm genuinely sorry if I am, but I swear it was up!

We were there about 1 hour 15. No one cared. It was a Saturday as well so probably their busiest time.

There's a snack station part way round- cans of drink, coffee and biscuits. I was very grateful!

I’m going to have 2 kids and a puppy with me so I’m hoping to get round as quickly as possible. They’ve said if it’s quiet we can take our puppy in so we don’t have to keep dashing back to the car 🤞

Just an update to say we visited DIY today and they did have the Helmsley! Puzzled as to why they told me they didn’t but it was there in a purple colour.
