Mortgage underwriter not info

Our mortgage offer is with underwriters so I want to be prepared if they ask for more info.

We have provided the usual docs etc

What else can or might they request ? Student loan amount confirmation ? Anything else ?

They asked me a few questions on my bank statement. Why has my parents sent me some money? What was my debit to Paypal for?

Once the mortgage company commented how much money I had spent at the local department store. I pointed out that I moved into a flat with no bed linen, curtains and so on! Really stupid and irrelevant questions. I figured they should just want to know I paid my rent on time (more than the mortgage payments) and had no other commitments that might interfere with my ability to pay, not my shopping or takeaway habit!
