Security camera

Any recommendations for a camera /cctv that records and doesn't need a monthly fee?
I've looked at doorbells but actually I think what I need is a camera that records. Not bothered by knowing who is at the door because there is always someone at home, more to record the drive at night. Or is there a basic doorbell that does the job?

We've got a Netatmo that does precisely that - it also has a light that comes on if you want it to and you can also get one with a siren.

Works absolutely fine for us but it was a bit fiddly to set up in the first place.

I have a Defender Apollo cctv kit - reasonable priced and doesn't require any monthly fees. It's motion activated so you don't have to trawl through loads of footage to find something.
