Norwich living

Hi!
Looking to relocate to Norwich from the north.
Can anyone advise on the nicest bits to live in?
Would prefer to be out of the city in a village, but need good public transport links into Norwich as I don’t drive. Good schools locally a must. Does anyone know the best comprehensive school in the area and where to move to if we wanted to be in its catchment?
Budget would be between 300/400k
4 beds ideally but can manage with 3.
Trying to find out where the nicest places are, with good transport, those are the essentials 🙂
I’ve got a little boy, so would be great to find a well connected village with a walkable-to nursery! It’s a big ask, I know!
Thanks :-)

I hate to tell you this but unicorns don't exist either.

We have recently relocated to Norwich, the best move ever for our family. We did a lot of desk research & visited quite a few times. Our children have finished education now, so I don’t know a lot about schools unfortunately. But a google search will give you names that you can search on OFSTED etc.

We live about 3 miles outside the city centre, which is ideal, excellent transport into the city, park & ride or regular bus services. Roads are a lot less busy than were we lived before. Areas we considered were Taverham, which we discounted as a little to far out, although it’s a nice area. Old Catton is popular, as our Sprowston, Hellesdon etc. Property is great value, people are friendly. Beaches are amazing. I would recommend Norwich, great place to live.

Does it have to actually be Norwich? Loddon is a small town about 10 miles out of Norwich and around 20 minutes by bus. Property would be cheaper and you may be able to get something nice within your budget. It has an Ofsted Good rated secondary but I’m not sure about the nurseries and primaries.
