Solicitor searches

The property we are planning on putting an offer in on this week has already had all the searches done by a solicitor only a few week ago as the buyers pulled out at the last minute due to finding a different properly.

We know who these solicitors are, if we ring and say we are buying the property will they give us a discounted rate as they won't have to re do the searches?

Searches belong to and are paid for by the buyers who pulled out. Searches are completed by external companies, not the solicitors themselves.

Sure I've heard of this. You may not get a discounted price but you'll get them quick!

Thanks both, I will ring them and speak to them about it

Your solicitor would usually do that for you. It's definitely a 'thing'.
