2015, I remember passively reading about the increasingly worse housing crisis taking place in Ireland and feeling quite unaffected by it. (I am English) living in Ireland for the past 23 years. I read this particular report, sat on my own couch in m own small but comfortable rented studio in Dublin. Little did I know, that my landlady would evict me stating the 'total electrical rewiring' excuse and that I would be aged 50, tearful and despondent after a 4-year attempt of finding anywhere to live alone (I come with a pet cat). I am terrified, but I have decided...enough is enough... I'm going home...back to North England... whilst I can still afford to rent a one-bedroom flat there. I waited 'too long' to meet the right man for starting a family with and got left behind I guess, now I just pray for one thing... not to have to live in a houseshare anymore at 50. Housing crisis...how many lives have you crushed?
