Storing shoes in a kitchen

The back door leads straight into the kitchen. Ideally we would build a utility/boot room but we can’t afford it at the moment. We are only refitting the kitchen. I mainly go into the garden from the kitchen so I and the kids have crocs/flip flops for the garden in a basket on the floor which is just a trip hazard.

Im planning the new kitchen I’m a bit confused of where to put the shoes there is no space on the floor it’s a large galley type kitchen with the back door at one end. We often use the back rather than the front door. DH wants to build a small area to put jackets and shoes in the kitchen but I’ve said it would look odd and kitchen smells etc... I still need my garden shoes though stored somewhere. Any ideas other than sticking them in a cupboard near the door.

We have croc hooks on the wall by the door. Just coat hooks at low level.

Keter type box outside the back door?

I use a wine-bottle cabinet intended to match kitchen units. About a foot deep and available in various widths and heights. Divided into shoe-size compartments.

Something like this

I’d buy some outside shoe storage and sit them outside the back door.

Thanks hadn’t thought of storing shoes outside. Think I’m going to see how much a builder will quote for building a utility/boot room as I think that’s the best solution tryi no to build a multi use kitchen seems to lead to too much compromise
