Really easy room planning app

Can anyone recommend a really, really simple to use room planning app? I’ve got the free IKEA one but can’t work out how to add exact room sizes and when I drag and drop walls I can’t get to to measurements I need.

It really does need to be incredibly simple to use for me to cope 😃.

Thanks

Anyone got any suggestions? Or if not an app the easiest way to plan out a room. Thanks

No app ideas, but you could go back to basics and use graph paper? Make a diagram of the room and then make separate pieces for the furniture so you can move them around and see how they fit

Similar to @SBAM I draw the outline of my room on graph paper and then use tracing paper as an overlay and draw the different room configurations onto it (eg furniture). You can’t see it in 3D but it’s easier than the apps!

Thanks both, heading off to Amazon to order graph paper and tracing paper now

I use graph paper, a pencil and a scale rule. I draw the room out and do furniture to scale separately. I write the actual sizes on everything, and it saves so much time.

This app is amazing, thank you so much for the recommendation (currently busy planning out my extension layout for the house I haven't purchased yet!).

I'm a bit late to this but there are two I can recommend. They both have free versions and paid for versions:-

Sketchup

www.sketchup.com/

and Room Sketcher

www.roomsketcher.com/

There are also loads of youtube videos available explaining how to use them as well.

I only got it for DC to play with when they wanted to rearrange their bedroom but I was so impressed!

We use Floorplanner - but only on desktop. I don't know if it has a mobile app, and I'm not sure it would work very well even if it did. I do really, really like it on desktop.

I tried Sketchup but found it difficult to use. Probably my fault though.

I’m really keen to find this type of program too.

I wanted to use a program for designing furniture too. There was a fantastic diagram of shelves (I know I’m easily excited) on another forum I belong to. The program was available on windows but not Mac so I couldn’t use. I’ve been searching for something ever since. I’m going to try everything that is recommended here. Thanks op!
