Good websites for lighting?

We’re now at the stage of specifying lighting for our project (complete refurb of whole house). I’m overwhelmed by the amount of choice and nauseated by the crazy prices on many websites. Does anyone have recommendations for good quality downlights, pendant lights and sconces?

Our project is modern/contemporary so we’re not looking for traditional chandeliers etc.

LED strip lighting has already been spec’d, so we’re not looking for that specifically.

TIA 🙏

For lighting I tend to go to John Lewis, Next, B&Q or Made.com

Iconic lights are very reasonable and have the style you want.

The Light Source are great. If you email them measurements, photos, etc they should be able to send you recommendations.

Pookie lights, White Company and Neptune are my go to, we also got some really nice lights for DC's rooms from MADE, it's not my personal taste overall but they went with their rooms and I was pleased with the quality.

Lightsandlamps.com have a small range of modern styles

Astro (sold by many different websites so shop around on price) have a big range of modern, non fussy styles in a choice of finishes

Downlights - we have Enlite Aurora, recommended by our builder and are very happy with them. I also really like the plaster-in ones but suspect they cost a lot more to install

Original BTC, Fritz Fryer and Pooky for more vintage styles (but still non fussy). Fritz Fryer are ££ though

Dowsing & Reynolds have a small range, worth a look

Agree with Made.com

Cox & Cox have some nice lights

I chose a lot of Astro stuff recently and bought it all from here.

www.ukelectricalsupplies.com/luxury-picture-lights.htm

At the time, they were the best for price of people who had stuff in stock. There were cheaper advertised prices, but when you came to order, it was out of stock and no confirmed date for delivery.

This was 6 months ago, so things may have changed.
