NatWest mortgage

Hi all

Has anyone recently had a mortgage approved with NatWest? They’ve finally signed off on the house we want to buy and I was just wondering how long all the legal bits were taking at the moment. I’m guessing (hoping!!) 3-4 weeks?

TIA 🏡

Do you mean to get your mortgage offer issued, or on the conveyancing side?

We got our offer through this morning - I’m wondering how long it will take for them to get everything in order for us to complete ASAP

That depends on so so many things... for conveyancing anything from 10 weeks to a year I’d say! (From unfortunate experience )

It literally took 8 weeks for us, that was in 2018 pre covid times

Sorry, I’ve not been very helpful with my information 😬

All checks/surveys (multiple 🙄🙄🙄) etc are done and contracts are written. The time frame I waS wondering about was just the organisation of the mortgage at NatWest’s end. Does that make more sense? Hopefully I seem a bit less naive in saying 3-4 weeks now!!!!

As far as I believe. Once you have the actual mortgage offer it’s done. ( not offer in principle, but actual offer with an expiry date, usually 6 months) got to sign mortgage deed..

Then each lender has a time frame for how long they need to know in advance for solicitors to request money. In Santander case it’s 5 working days. Nationwide I think is 7 working days.

Time consuming bit is conveyancing
