Bedframe taking a further 8-10 weeks to arrive...

DP and I are moving into a new place next week, and are buying our first bed (previous beds were all singles/beds which belonged to landlord). We thought we'd ordered in time to get the bed delivered soon after we moved in, but apparently not.

The prospect of sleeping on a mattress until early July doesn't fill me with joy Sad Dreams customer service has been so unhelpful, they can't give us a date of delivery, or hurry along the process at all, they just keep saying 'estimated 8-10 weeks'. DP is absolutely dead-set on this particular bedframe and won't consider cancelling it and ordering a new one. I wouldn't have agreed to buying this had I known in the showroom that we'd be without a bed for the first few months of living together.

Any tips on how I can get round this situation at all? The place we're moving into is tiny, so I could probably sleep on my sofa, but there's going to be no room to fit in another bed in the meantime while we wait for our main bed to arrive.

Ikea sell a double bed frame with slats for £60. Buy that, put your mattress on it, then dismantle it and give it away when your new one arrives.

When we moved August last year, we bought from theoakbedstore.co.uk/. It took around 3 weeks. We had to sleep on the mattress until it arrived

Thanks @MyAnacondaMight I think I've persuaded him to buy a cheap bedframe then cut it down for timber later - we have garden plans!

I'd just personally cancel it and get a new bedframe elsewhere, but he's keen on the storage, and this particular model is really popular hence the long lead time.

Cut it down? ConfusedJust sell it on Facebook marketplace so someone else can use it? IKEA stuff sells for good prices, you’d probably just do the equivalent of pay £20 for a few weeks use.
