BTL / Investor Query (From A Seller)

Smokeahontas · 27/04/2021 22:37

House is on the market and has attracted a lot of BTL / investor attention. It’s likely I’ll end up selling to one.

Will there be slightly less pressure for me to find a house to buy quickly? I’m not saying I’ll rip the arse out of it, but just an extra week or two to look.

I would expect so.

I'm a buy to let investor. I want the deal done ASAP. Not sure why there'd be any extra time?

lastqueenofscotland · 28/04/2021 19:51

I’ve found generally they are more willing to wait, as long as they don’t have tenants lined up, as they aren’t dependent on being in for school terms/baby being born/Christmas etc etc

Smokeahontas · 28/04/2021 20:01

@Changingwiththetimes I just meant as it’s not in a conventional chain, as such. They’re not having to sell their place to move in. I absolutely wouldn’t rip the arse.

Thanks @lastqueenofscotland.

They need to rent it out to cover the mortgage, so I doubt investor would be patient.

Smokeahontas · 28/04/2021 20:27

@Willdoitlater But any mortgage wouldn’t start until completion & most people wouldn’t let prospective renters in until after they’ve vacated?

You are right. I was just meaning they want to get tenants lined up so want firm dates asap.
