Should I be suspicious re the difference In quotes?

I have quotes from two different companies to replace a double patio door, a single door to the garden and a big kitchen window. Both companies are quoting to replace with upvc and same quality locks etc. Both firms have good reviews online. One has a shinier website (with a very Essexy celeb endorsement!)

So less shiny website company has quoted about £3000.

Shiny celeb endorsed website company has quoted about £5500.

Just wondered what questions I should be asking to check cheaper company really is giving same service as more expensive one?

Ask to see work they have done recently. And did they give you a cost breakdown? You may see where the money is going.

Another quote might be advisable.

It could just be as simple as the higher quote company has enough work at the moment and has therefore priced the job in a way that if you're mad enough to pay it, then they'll manage to fit it in.

But with 2 quotes it's impossible to know - you need to get a 3rd to be sure

How detailed are the quotes?
Get a full breakdown.
If the first have literally just said “yeh in the 3k ballpark” you are asking for a huge cost overrun
