Because we're nearly at the end of the other thread and still inflicting this torture on ourselves...!

OP posts:

@Subbaxeo Congratulations! What a relief.

@flashbac You're not alone, I keep finding new things to worry about.

No updates from us, everything seems to be moving along OK (famous last words!) but slowly. We are trying to look and the bright side and are viewing it as an opportunity to save more money before most of our bills triple!

savemefromsearches · 25/06/2021 22:02

We did it (too)! Congratulations @Subbaxeo!

What a rollercoaster. Exchanged and completed today! I'm absolutely shattered but so so relieved that it's all done.

Thanks to whoever posted regarding Ray Rose Removals ( https://rayroseremovals.co.uk ).
They were f outstanding! If you're in London/Hertfordshire/Essex etc I would highly recommend them.

Hope your daughter is feeling alright @Newhousehope xx

Keepemguessing · 27/06/2021 20:18

Hello all!

Today I put in an asking price offer on a lovely flat and I'm having a second viewing tomorrow.

Newhousehope · 28/06/2021 08:46

Morning buyers and sellers!
And here lies probably the most manic week in the property game for quite some time!!!

We aren’t trying to be part of that though 🤣 we just want to move!

niki26 · 28/06/2021 11:45

Hi all - I've been lurking on this thread but haven't commented before! We completed on our house sale on Thursday.... due to complete on our purchase today! I'm so nervous!!!! Had an email from solicitors at 9.30am saying they were sending the purchase monies over.... so literally waiting for 'that' phone call!

(We are staying in a flat for a couple of months whilst we redecorate the new place! Hence the gap between sale and purchase!)

redavocado · 28/06/2021 15:29

Good luck to everyone trying to complete by the end of the month! I'm so glad I'm not a conveyancing solicitor this week!

We've just put in an incredibly cheeky offer on a dream property. The agent knew it was over budget so hopefully it's not a huge surprise to them at least. They don't seem to be overwhelmed with viewings so I'm crossing everything that they come back with a compromise that we could possibly manage.

Newhousehope · 28/06/2021 16:15

Indemnity and my fucking conservatory will be the end of me

ineedaholidayandwine · 28/06/2021 20:20

We're in!! Grin move had gone smoothly, long day though and still lots more unpacking. Chilling in pj's with wine

Cantbebotheredtothinkofaname · 28/06/2021 22:43

Evening all! Little update from me, we exchanged today! It’s been a horrible rollercoaster the last few days, we were meant to exchange on Friday but a last minute delay with the banks meant we couldn’t, I’ve been worried sick as we had a non refundable booking with a removal firm for our completion date of tomorrow, but thankfully we are still set for completion tomorrow Smile can’t believe that by this time tomorrow we will be in our new house!

flashbac · 29/06/2021 13:46

Congrats to those who can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Commiserations for the rest of us Wink

Why is it all so stressful?!

I have a horrible mining search result to now contend with Hmm

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 29/06/2021 14:00

Congrats to all those exchanging and completing :)

We received our survey yesterday and pulled out of our purchase this morning due to the findings. Still going ahead with our sale so now looking to rent for a while. The rental market is not looking good however :(

Didicat · 29/06/2021 14:01

So we completed yesterday! However I am now a reluctant landlord as the family are all having to self isolate until Friday. I have not been so stressed, as essentially the stamp duty was my salary for a year as I work part time in a school.

Luckily we are in a rental hate to think what would happen if we were in a chain!

Good luck to everyone and after 18 months on and off these threads I have eventually graduated.

ExpatForLife · 29/06/2021 14:07

Ooh - I can add myself to the roll call. Had an offer accepted a few weeks back. We are moving from a rental and the seller is moving to a rental, so I'm cautiously optimistic that things will go smoothly.

Newhousehope · 29/06/2021 14:20

That sucks. What did the survey say?

My buyer wants all manner of indemnity insurances put in place and I’ve offered to pay 50%. Not footing the whole bill!!

Keepemguessing · 30/06/2021 08:21

Good morning. How long would you expect a vendor to take to make a decision on an offer?

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 30/06/2021 09:17

All sorts newhouse, new floors, ceilings, windows, doors, roofs, rising damp etc.

Househunting21 · 30/06/2021 09:26

@Keepemguessing, it's really variable. We accepted the offer on our sale immediately (full asking price), our offer on our purchase went back and forth in negotiations over two days, but responses were within hours. The top of the chain went to best and final and it was four days between offer submission and acceptance. I hope you hear back soon and it's positive news - when did you make it?

@Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear, I'm really sorry to hear that. Is there anything majorly wrong or is it death by a thousand cuts? I hope you can get a rental sorted.

Congratulations to Didicat and everyone else who's completed or will be doing so soon. Fingers crossed we'll join you in a month or two, or three . . .!

Keepemguessing · 30/06/2021 09:31

Thanks House I made it on Monday so I'm hoping they call today.

Cantbebotheredtothinkofaname · 30/06/2021 10:00

Well we’re in! Just starting with the mammoth task of unpacking! It’s taken 10 weeks from us accepting an offer on our house to completion which I think is really good for the moment! Good luck everyone with your moves Smile

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 30/06/2021 12:03

Death by a thousand cuts hunting :( One big thing would have been fine but we would be chipping away at it for years.

Keepemguessing · 30/06/2021 16:12

I didn't get the property I bid on so I'm visiting three properties on Friday.

niki26 · 30/06/2021 16:23

Sorry to hear that@Keepemguessing - we put offers on two other properties and missed out before we found the one we completed on. Silver linings though as both of them haven't gone through yet and we got ours in before the SDLT deadline.

Fingers crossed for Friday!

Iamsodonewith2020 · 30/06/2021 16:40

Newhouse hope what is problem with your conservatory? I am concerned about mine too but only at the very beginning of our sale??

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 30/06/2021 17:06

Update from us too - exchange is on for next Weds! I can't believe this is actually happening.

I keep looking around our current place and thinking 'really must start some decluttering'...

Newhousehope · 30/06/2021 17:56

Something about it not having permission, it didn’t need it, but I think they’ve found something in the deeds about extending so far. I’m not too sure on the finer details. That as well as it was built over sewer pipes.
