I have a 2 storey townhouse and I am wanting to install a solar pv system. Just wondered if anyone has had this and how much you paid? Or if you’re in Yorkshire a good supplier I can use.

It'll depend how big an array - I'm getting 1.6KW of panels installed which is going to cost just over £3k. That's a really teeny tiny system (there's a good reason why!) & I imagine you'd want something much bigger but the pic attached shows the cost of the different elements.

Sorry, pic failing to post. Will try again

I'd definitely recommend checking out suppliers thoroughly - there is a very wide range of knowledge / skill levels out there. (Sorry, I'm no-where near Yorkshire!)

Ours was £9k for about the biggest domestic system you can have. From Powerpac in Leics. Might cover S Yorks?

Prices have changed a lot over the last few years. For some reference; a ~500w panel can now be had for around £170. More efficient ones cost a fair bit more, but hardly anyone uses them.
An inverter is around £800
Other sundries £200
So a standard 4kw system comes to around £2500 in materials.
That should help you when getting quotes.
Depending on your roof, the installers may insist on scaffolding which can bump the costs up.

just to check, are you hoping it will be a good investment?

It won't.

We got 7kW for £7k five years ago. Panels themselves may now be cheaper, but without the FiT we claim it's wouldn't be so worthwhile to do now.
