We currently live in Blackheath with 1 toddler but want more space out of London. Would love to find somewhere with good schools, great parks, close to countryside and a good highstreet. I've heard dorking and epsom are nice with good links to London Bridge/bank station area. What are your thoughts on the area and any other suggestions.

Follow the London to Brighton line down from London Bridge! Areas around redhill (if not redhill it’s self) would fit the bill. In my opinion they’re much better value than other parts of Surrey!

Dorking is lovely. We moved last year from London. Surrounded by countryside, enough going on with the cinema/theatre/kids sports clubs/leisure centre, nice high street (but who knows what will happen post covid), two gin distilleries (with bars), brewery and vineyard.

Someone who lived and grew up here said it's the town that thinks it's a village and I think that sums it up perfectly. It's very friendly.

Happy to answer any questions you might have!

If you’re needing to commute into London Bridge/Bank, you could look at Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. They all fit your criteria Op, albeit they’re in Kent not Surrey. 😊

Coulsdon or Banstead

Farnham is lovely but it’s a bit further out (no fast train to London).

Reigate is lovely. Take a look at Priory Park. Beautiful High Street too.

Dorking is similar to Reigate.

For somewhere larger, Guildford is wonderful.
