Rewiring a Victorian house... how much?

A 4 bed stone built house, largish rooms. If you’ve had a similar size property completely rewired, how much did it cost?

We had one rewired about 10 years ago - slightly bigger than yours. The electricians were great and a team of 2 or 3 per day worked for 3 months solid. Chasing out the stone and solid plaster was a much bigger job than they anticipated and though they only charged us £15k, I think it must have cost them much more than that. Ic an't find the bill for the exact amount, but it was a complete rewire of two stories, inc smoke alarms and burglar alarms.

That seems very reasonable for 3 months solid work by a team of 2 or 3!
We’ve had an electrician come round to scope our house and he’s predicting a quicker job than you had; weeks rather than months, but useful to get a sense of the likely costs.

We had a Victorian terrace partially rewired 2 years ago for 4k, didn't include requiring to the ceiling lights which would have been an extra 1k.

I have the same question!

I'm also wondering what sort of damage to expect to the kitchen/bathroom, how did you decide whether wiring was really needed, and what sort of complications arose.
