We received NDN’s plans for a double storey extension last week and I’m after some advice. Basically it’s a double storey side extension on our side of their property. It will come to less than 1m of our fence. It will also have a loft conversion in the extension.
My issues are having looked at the sun and plans over the weekend, it will significantly reduce sunlight to our garden, we basically won’t get any sun at all after 4.30.
We will also be very overlooked. We are on a bend at a 45 degree angle to them and so their new extension 2nd floor and loft will basically just face our garden.
Our house sits less than 1m from the fence anyway and I regularly have to shut windows because they smoke cigarettes and cannabis at their current side door and the smell comes into our house, the new plans have the side door much nearer to our house so this will be worse.
Our house is set further back than their property and so we will also get reduced light to the front of the house on their side of the extension goes ahead due to its height.
We already have problems with their parking, they have 4 cars and despite having room for 2 cars only put one on the drive and the others are in front of theirs and our property regularly completely blocking the pavement. The new plans will make it difficult to fit even one car on the drive.
Any advice on what points we need to make to object the planning based on above?
