Which sink?

Hi all, planning a new kitchen. Going for white quartz worktop and would like a gold/brass tap. Which sink would compliment this?

Originally I had planned for a Belfast sink because I love them but not sure on how practical they are.

Can anyone give any pros and cons on the following: Belfast sink, composite sink or traditional stainless steel... will the latter look strange with the worktop?

Thoughts on undercounter sink?

I’ve got a Belfast sink and I love it. Why wouldn’t it be practical? Get grooves cut in the worktop for draining board, and use a washing up basin to save water. Mine comes up beautifully clean with a bit of bleachy water and I’m not at all careful with it. I don’t leave teabags/coffee grounds in the sink all day though - my friend does and his sink is stained. Also, they’re big enough to wash a baking tray/chopping board/smallish dog in, and it’d make you happy! I hate stainless steel sinks - they don’t make a kitchen look prettier - and would never go back now I’ve got the bigger one. Plus, I got mine from the salvage yard and it cost £60 and looks like new eight years after we installed it!

I found our Belfast sink really annoying, too deep and clunky. We replaced it with ceramic but in a more normal style as we still wanted it to fit with the style of our cottage. I think with a quartz worktop and gold tap I'd be tempted to go for one of the black composite ones. I know someone who has a squareish one and it looks brilliant.

Sounds fab. I do love the belfast sink. The issues which I hear about include: easy to stain/chip and low down when washing up. Great price at £60!

Re washing up, how tall are you/person who washes up? I’m short, so no hunching over to reach the sink, but perhaps it wouldn’t suit a taller person.

I'm not tall (5 feet 5) and washing up in a Belfast sink makes my lower back ache.
