New home disaster (lighthearted)

Dominos don’t deliver here!

Nooooo! Spent the day making up new beds (getlaidbeds - very nice) and thought finishing with a pizza. Disappointed teenagers now!

Any unexpected (lighthearted) disasters when you moved into your new house?

Did they not discover this key fact on the survey? Most remiss.

I feel your pain... i inadvertently moved to a house that is equidistant from 3 McDonalds. All are an HOUR away (one way). For equality... the Burger Kings, KFCs, etc are all in the same towns!

Yes yes I know its garbage, but it is my guilty pleasure. Well it was!

Nowhere near as awful, but I put a spade through the electric cable that runs from the kitchen to the shed.
Husband had dug a hole for the line post and for some reason I decided it was a snake. First full day in the house
No idea why

We moved house from Big City to Small Market Town in the early 2000's. There was no cable service so we had to stay with BT .
We also have overhead electricity supply, rather than underground so the lights flicker in heavy winds.

Husband to the rescue. He is driving to pick up domino’s.

I live rurally (grew up in countryside but moved to a city for uni then back to countryside) and when Dominos opened in the local town it was an absolute game changer. Just waiting for Nando's now!

When living rurally we knew the taxi drivers from town & had an arrangement for them to collect & pay for our takeaways and ferry them out us where we’d pay for the round trip and reimburse for the takeaway.

Only rarely of course given the cost but always was a great treat.

No water upstairs- discovered when the mover had a crap and couldn’t flush it. Turns out a dishwasher has to be installed or the upstairs water has to be turned off or flood out of the kitchen cupboard. Marvellous. Had one to install fortunately!
