What date did this tenancy end?

14th January: tenant gives notice, says he will move out on 2nd February
20th Jan: pays rent for 21 Jan - 20 Feb.
2 Feb: tenant emails to say he would like to leave at the end of March instead, landlord agrees.
16th Feb: tenant emails landlord to say he has left and doesn't plan to return and landlord should dispose of his possessions in the property, doesn't respond to any further attempts at contact, obvs doesn't pay any further rent.

What is "the official tenancy end date"? (Statutory periodic tenancy fwiw.)

End of March.

The tenant had agreed with the LL the tenancy would end at the end of March, tenant is still liable to pay until that agreed date.

LL can deduct missing rent from deposit. The LL should also deduct money from the tenant's deposit to pay for the tenant's posessions disposal.

Thanks Garlia, yes deposit went to pay for those things. I should have said this is to determine who's liable for council tax from what date. Council want to know the official(?) end of tenancy date. I don't want to just pluck a date from the air and no idea what the 'official' date is if no notice was given?

I'd definitely be putting March 31st :)
